127-metre expedition yacht Rex is the latest yacht design concept to hit the market, designed by the UK-based design studio Harrison Eidsgaard. She boasts a helicopter hangar that elegantly converts into a full-sized squash concept.
Its features include a white and grey exterior with a 20-metre-wide hull, a futuristic propulsion system that adapts to future demands like hydrogen storage that comes from the client who “asked for something different”.
The yacht Rex is categorized as a premium high-end superyacht with unique features such as a dedicated helicopter hangar that can be converted into a squash court, a second helicopter landing facility, an upper-level panoramic lounge and a spacious sundeck.
Located below the helicopter hangar on the main deck, the 14-meter-long swimming pool can be enclosed with glass to create an indoor pool in colder climates. A large atrium connects the pod lounge to the Neptune lounge, two-floor gym, and spa in the 300 square metre aft lounge.
Each of the ten guest suites has its own terrace. The master suite has four private terraces, two Jacuzzis and a private gym.
An expedition vessel of 15 metres and two tenders measuring nine metres can each be accommodated in the full-beam tender garage aft.
We congratulate the team over at Harrison Eidsgaard for their wonderful work on this yacht design.
